What Big Dreams have you had come true?

This is such a big question, Donna. When I got your pre-interview questions, I was like, “Oh, what big dreams?” None of my big dreams have come true. I even asked you, “Why did you want to interview me for this series?” It sounds crazy, “Look where you are! You’re still thinking that nothing has come true.” But, it was such a good exercise to realize how much had come true. My first big dream that I can remember from years ago was to get to serve, teach, and love what I do every day.

I had this deep inner sense of wanting to serve humanity and teach. At that time I wasn’t a teacher at all yet. I was living in West Hollywood and I had graduated from UCLA in a totally different degree. I was in Environmental Studies and I was now taking acting classes in West Hollywood. I was walking from my apartment to my acting class, I remember listening on my little shuffle iPod these affirmations from Louise Hay. She had this one affirmation that I was always repeating to myself, it was, “I do the work I love, I work with and for people I really like and I earn a great income.” My dream was to do that and it came true within 2 years, and I’ve been doing that ever since. It’s been about 10 years.

What was the catalyst for that dream?

I was always really sensible to the environment and to the state of the earth. I remember I would turn off water all the time and my mother was like, “I got to brush my teeth.” I was like, “Just turn off the water. Nobody needs that much water…and recycle.” And then I realized through my own healing journey and my own growing that the earth was fine – the healing that needed to happen was at the level of humanity. If we left the earth just be what it is, it would be fine. We just needed to heal ourselves.

I grew up with a lot of emotional turmoil inside and my mother was sick for many, many years. I really wanted to help, bringing about healing on the planet as a whole. The actual catalyst is a fun story: I was in Las Vegas, walking through this beautiful, brand new whole foods on Las Vegas Boulevard. I had this super happy thought, “I would love to be able to teach in this Whole Foods.” I don’t even know why I was thinking that because I wasn’t a teacher yet at that point. But, I had been affirming, — “I’m a teacher, I’m being of service, I’m bringing healing on the planet.” — Like I was really affirming it and believing in it. What was the catalyst was just asking, “Would it be great if I could teach?” and just listening to that inner voice.

A year later, after I had that thought, I travelled to Europe and visited my sister for few months. Then, when I came back to Las Vegas, I end up going to the strip on Earth Hour. Earth Hour is a time when all the Casino’s, on this one day, for this one hour turn off all their lights. You know me; I used to turn off the lights in my house. When the entire strip was turning off the lights, I was the happiest fairy ever. I’m running down the strip with my friend Farah who had driven me up from Los Angeles back to Las Vegas.

We’re like super excited, we’re running down the strip and we hear these super cool Yogi drummers, with a woman there who had this incredible energy… and she happened to be the brand new owner of the brand new Yoga studio inside that Whole Foods on the strip. She’s a painter, she’s an artist, she’s a yoga teacher, she’s a dancer, and she’s beautiful. Her name is Jada Fire, and she and her husband opened up the studio in the Whole Foods.

Immediately, Farah and her were talking and she introduces me and she tells her what I do. I do some angel work, I do some healing and she’s asking me, “Would you come teach at my studio?” And so, I end up teaching this meditation class on how to meditate with Angels in the Whole Foods upstairs where they have this gorgeous yoga studio. I end up teaching there, and from that experience, other people contacted me and asked me to teach at their studios. I end up having clients from that point forward all the time.

What obstacles or challenges did you face along the way? How did you overcome those challenges?

I remember it clearly because I was still in a little bit of my emotional turmoil in my personal life. I was still single, still trying to find my way, and I didn’t have family around. I remember, I would teach these workshops and 20, 30, 40, 50 people showed up. I had these amazing experiences and channel this higher light, and be very much of a force for healing and transformation. But then, when I drive home, I would feel really empty. I would crash back down to this lower level, and it felt like I wasn’t balanced.

I think a lot of women can relate to having something great happen in their professional life, and then their personal life…sometimes the two don’t always equal out. I had a meditation album that I was releasing. I was on a mini-tour through the US and then I went to London and Paris. I worked over there, I started promoting the CD and I still have this wish to have a family. I still wanted to have a baby and to meet his father.

I’d been feeling my son around me for few years but I was really starting to feel him more around 2010. I am walking through Hyde Park, which is this beautiful park in London. I’m going to yoga class and I’m still thinking “What am I doing? Where is the father of my son?” I know he’s coming because I am an intuitive, so I could feel that he is coming. But, I was like, “I don’t know where his father is.” I’m not finding him. I don’t have the luck in finding the right guy to have a family with.

And so, I sent my son this thought, “You go find your father because I’m not able to find him.” Two days later I find I know a woman in London who happens to know somebody named Dan…who lives in Las Vegas and who becomes the father of my son. I had to go all the way to Europe to meet someone from home. The challenge was healing myself as I was healing other people. Learning how to heal my emotional body and having a child was a big dream, for me.

Did everything turn out as you expected when your dreams came true?

Obviously not! No, the birth was very traumatic. The pregnancy was awesome, I was so happy being pregnant. I had zero issues at all, but I opted for a home birth because I am still super sensitive to medicine and hospitals. I was hoping not to have to go to hospital. My home was a street down from the hospital, and so I knew that if anything went wrong I could go. I gave birth just fine but I did end up passing out and having a near death experience.

I passed out and I wasn’t coming back. It was physically extremely hard. I think I was not grounded enough. I didn’t have the preparation to become the caretaker of a baby. I wrote about it in an article called “8 Reasons To Live After Almost Dying” The hospital saved my life and so I’m very grateful. But, it took me a long time to recover from that, to heal emotionally and be able to talk about it because I couldn’t talk about it for a while.

I think Brene Brown talks about owning your story or writing your story, and when you start to write about it or share about it, that’s when the story stops affecting you. When I wrote that blog post it was super emotional because it was a choice for me to stay. When you had a near death experience, you have a choice to stay or come back because you’re still up there and you’re still conscious. They give you this choice and obviously I’m going to come back, I had the baby I’d wanted for so long.

alixe-1But it was really, really tough. I really needed to do more healing and I missed my home country (the South of France). That’s another dream that came true. I moved back to the South France from Vegas which has been a much healthier place for me to heal, and ground and raise my son.

I mean, my baby, my son, he is always smiling. He smiled on the day he was born and he came out and smiled and looked around the bath tub, I mean, he’s an incredible baby. He’s a young man now, he’s five. He’s a little man. I don’t regret it at all. I was doing attachment parenting and breastfeeding. My body rocked it because even though I had that experience, I was still able to breastfeed for 2 years. It was really awesome. I don’t regret it. I probably won’t do a homebirth again or maybe in a clinic – a birth clinic.

My mother passed away when I was 18, and I think it was hard for me. Maybe this is good for anyone who’s about to become a mom who has mom issues to work out. You need to work out those mom issues first. But, I missed my mom. I had unresolved mom issues, obviously. So when I became a mom and I didn’t have a mom, I really had some resentment. I thought “Wait a minute. Who’s taking care of me.” I didn’t plan probably enough. Nothing has been this traumatic since.

What’s the best thing about your dreams coming true?

I still get to do what I love from the South of France and everything is online. It took awhile to be honest to switch from all the face to face interaction I was having in Vegas, because Vegas just happened on its own. It just snowballed. I didn’t have to do much marketing at all; people just came to where I was teaching. And then, from there I was doing sessions, workshops, I wrote books, and I did retreats — and it all just happened. It was divinely guided and when I moved to the South of France, I was impatiently thinking “Alright guys. How come nothing’s happening now?” How come online nothing is flowing like it used to? So, I learned how to have flow and ease online, as I did in Vegas. The best part for me is I get to go and travel, and now we can go to Costa Rica or Hawaii or I can go back to Vegas and not have to be stuck in one location.

And now, I can honestly say, I’m good in both my professional and personal lives. When things are too good in every area of life, I’ve hit upper limit problems before – I go to a little bit of self-sabotaging. I really watch it because now I have this beautiful home, we have a garden, a new husband. We have my son, we have a little dog, we have this beautiful fireplace, we make a fire in the winter — we have this blissful life in the South of France. When work goes even better than it normally does, then I have to watch not sabotaging things at home, but the best part about my dream coming true, I still feel like I really have balance and like everything is equal now.

What is the worst thing about your dreams coming true?

I really feel like the worst things are not that bad. Living in France, I miss the 24 hour lifestyle we get in the States. In Vegas, you can go to yoga at 11 o’clock at night. You know, they have their lifestyle there, there’s no restriction. So, I missed that because in South France it’s like a little village and not that much to do. But, I’m working on traveling more so that can change.

The part that was hard, I’m thinking “Donna, why does it always have to be a bad thing when a good thing comes?” I’ll have to work my magical wand and delete and cancel all bad things that happened. But, you’re right. I mean, sacrifices and things change. I don’t know what you think about this, but if I never judged an event happening, then it would never be a bad thing. If I look at it, — “Oh, there is change but it’s a good thing because my dream is coming true.” Do you know what I mean?

It’s a different way to look at it. So, I separated with my son’s father when my son was 15 months and pretty much we were sort of falling apart. He didn’t want to come and live in France and I was here. I prayed to the universe like, “How do I get to stay in France?” It’s a funny story, that’s not really funny, but he ended up meeting someone else when I was in France. They formed a relationship and that saved me because I was like, “Oh, then I can stay in France.”

But I did love him obviously. It was a difficult situation. Out of that heartbrokenness, came out a beautiful course that I teach now that a lot of people have taken and loved. It’s called “The Awakening Heart”. It really teaches people to heal from triggers and wounds, and how to manifest. So, it’s been an incredible blessing. And Dan, I was talking to him this morning – we still talk all the time. He’s very spiritual and he’s still one of my best friends on the planet and we both are co-parenting in a way that’s really great. He’s not here a whole lot, but I do go back quite a lot so he can see his son.

We just really have each other’s back. When Dan came to visit once, he went to pick up our son at preschool. Dan is carrying Hayden in his hands, and Hayden my son is holding my husband’s hand at the same time. So, you have my ex and my new man, both carrying my son walking through our village. They’re all together. My ex and my new husband would have coffee together and they just totally get along. That’s such a beautiful vision of how, as conscious parents, we can still break -up, still have separations, still love each other and still get along.

DONNA: I want to highlight something you said so that people don’t miss it in the story. If you don’t judge what happened, then, nothing’s ever bad. Out of something that felt bad at the time, something so beautiful has come. I imagine that you might have wanted, but might not expect that you would see your new husband and your ex walking together with your son. It’s something that everyone who splits up and has kids would want, but not necessarily seeing that happening.

You asking “Why does it have to be a worst thing?” makes me want to explain why I ask that question. I agree with you, nothing is ever bad. But I talk to people so much and they say, “Yeah, my dream came true. But…” and they take away from it. I really want to show people that most Big Dreams are like that – there’s contrast to show you how to make it even better. And Alixe, you’re a perfect example that something ‘bad’ happening can lead to something better than you ever expected happening. There’s always something and I’d love to get to the point where I think, “Yes, my big dream has come true and nothing — there’s no worst thing about it at all.” I haven’t experienced that yet.

alixe-2ALIXE: Let’s work on it…I’m the magical fairy Godmother!

When I hit rock bottom, when I found out that he had another woman… we broke up and he didn’t really say it, and then I found out. It was such a deeply painful moment because it had happened to me before.

Do you know when you say that you got to buckle up? When you buckle up, you’re like, “Alright. Do you know what? I’m creating this. I’m the one who did this.” So, there’s something in me that’s making men, for some reason, leave me or there was something in me because my father also did it to my mother. There was something in me that I needed to clear. I made this really clear decision, I was going to take the entire year – that’s what it took to heal this, to move through this, and to have a peaceful relationship again and to no longer hurt.

Out of to that deep commitment where I put my foot down and I said that I’m never going to hurt like this again, came out all these solutions on how to heal myself and heal the triggers, to the point where he could call me and say whatever, and I was no longer angry and like a crazy woman. I realized that I was calm and the triggers were gone. I learned so much from that experience on how to heal, and so I teach this now to other women who are like triggered by people, their kids, their spouses or somebody at work on how to change that. I did really ask for that healing to happen and I also did ask for my husband to come in – I really do ask.

What advice would you have for other people who want to make the dreams that you’ve had come true?

I use my intuition as much as I can. I feel into a situation. Before I ask for it, I’ll feel into it. I learned how to connect, I learned how to sense if this is a good thing or not. I asked questions all the time. So, my advice would be is to really connect and ask a lot of questions. The universe cannot intervene or bring us solutions or answers unless we’re dead serious we need answers. I would say, really do whatever you can to stay connected. I call it connected vertically versus horizontally because we’re very good at connecting horizontally for the most part, like to people on the internet and work and kids. Unless you are a super introvert who loves to be alone, then you’re mostly connecting horizontally, probably too much.

And so I say connect vertically because when you do that, you’re going to re-open your inner psychic intuitive abilities. A big part of what I do, I have a book called “Earth Angels in Training” and I have a course that goes with it, it’s really to teach people how to remember that language of energy that we all knew when we were babies, our first language – energy, and how to use that to ask for help.

A lot of times, I hear… just this week, I taught a workshop here in France and somebody said, “You’re right! I always forget to ask for help. That’s why I don’t receive help. I forget.” or they’ll say things like, “I don’t feel worthy. I don’t want to bother them.” Here’s what I would say to that, if that’s your thought, is you were born with this team of heavenly helpers. Think of it like you have managers or assistants that work for you, and you never give them anything to do, right? You never take them away from doing something else because they’re not limited by time and space like we are.

alixe-3Think of one archangel. Let’s say you want to work with Archangel Michael. You’re not going to take him away from anything that he already has to do. Like, he’s not limited like we are and that’s what I get. A lot of people would say, “Well, I don’t feel worthy. I don’t want to bother them.” The thing is if you’re praying to help you it’s because you want to heal you, most likely, because you want to help other people. They absolutely want to help you, too, with anything.

I’m feeling another question, maybe like, “Okay, I’m going to ask them for help, but then, what?” That’s when you learn how to listen to answers, that’s why I love to teach this stuff. You can become an empty canvass and you’ll hear answers in your own mind come from them. Or you’ll feel guided; you’ll get this inner nudge. I remember one day, one morning, this is what I do — I wake up, I meditate and ask: show me what I’m going to do today or use me. How can I bless somebody today? I get instantly this vision of going to this cafe across town.

That’s when I was back in Las Vegas. I didn’t really know why I was there but I got this sense that I really just need to go and work there today. I brought my computer and I get there. There’s somebody who I knew in the community who was videotaping her show, like a cooking show but she would interview people from the community. So, she said, “Oh my God, Daniel Dove!” Because my name at that time was Daniel Dove, and she’s like, “Can I interview you?”

I didn’t know that I was going there for that, and so I had no makeup. So, I go to the store and buy make-up. She videotaped the interview and I end up getting a bunch of clients, people who wanted to come and work with me. Do you see what I mean? You’re connecting the morning, you asked, you can receive a vision, you can receive an answer, and you can hear something. If you don’t ask you won’t hear anything. But, if you ask…and you can even ask, “I don’t hear anything. How can I hear you?” and they’ll answer you. Do you know what I mean? Don’t be afraid to ask sub-questions.

There is one more thing that I think is so important. Because when you take the time to connect and ask, what you’re going to do, you’re going to set intentions. Do you know what I mean? You’re going to automatically set an intention. Once you know that people are working for you from that heavenly realm, you’re going to get your stuff together and ask “Okay, wait a minute. What is my intention then?”

For example, the thing that really helps me is I’ll set pre-intentions. I have a worksheet on that called “Set-up your Parameters”, it could be something like you’re pre-writing what you’re going to do as if it’s already here. So, the parameters could be: the people who come to me are super open-minded. I love teaching this course, 10 people come or 15 people come – you write out the parameters. Like, I love writing this new book. I create a Fun, Strong Course to Awakening Intuition and Becoming a Earth Angel in Training.

I have these parameters on my wall. All this stuff, I’m in the process of creating. I’m deciding on what I’m doing next and calling in. What I decided to call in, I say it’s me but really, it’s the angels because I work for Angels. It’s more like they’re publishing the book. So, I’m working on the book and the course. They wrote the book, I channeled it in one week. It was incredible, I was laughing the whole time if you’ve read Earth Angels on Training — I was laughing my head off the entire time I was writing it because it is such a funny book about awakening.

What’s next on your big dream list?

Professionally, I am hoping to get the Earth Angels in Training published because I wrote it as an eBook in 2012. I channeled it in one week because I only had one week because I was guiding a retreat in Hawaii — The Goddess Retreat. Anyway, I had some things happen personally, I moved to France and some things happened and so I really didn’t get back to the book. But, it never left me, it was always there. I knew I needed to get it in print.

So, I’m hoping to get it in print. I have somebody I’m working with now to help me get it published. I’m already invited to an event in October to do a talk at a live event. I want to really keep presenting my work around intuition and how energy clearing can have such a fast real impact on what we attract in our life. Without that energy clearing, we’re going to attract the same things over and over again.

Like, my father was the first man who created that sense of abandonment in me. It wasn’t his fault. My parents separated, and so when he left with our nanny, which is such a French story. When I healed that notion of men abandoning me, I healed all the emotions, all the energy around it. Now, my husband is so by my side and everyone is by my side and I no longer create men leaving me.
This is just one example. I love healing that for people because unless they do, like women don’t heal their blocks or their emotions, then they’ll keep soon struggling in manifesting, whether it’s a job, it’s a dream, or it’s anything. I want to keep doing that until I reach billion people who can clear all of those energies around their space and in their heart.

Isn’t this an amazing Big Dream? So guys, let’s help Alixe reach that Billion people…if you know anyone who would love to hear/read this interview, share it. Share it on your facebook and twitter pages. Share it far and wide…and make sure you go get the free gifts Alixe has shared: Aura Brightener meditation and Earth Angel in Training Ebook.

What a beautiful article. I was deeply moved and inspired. Alice, thanks for being so opened,i found it very helpful
