When I’m On Good Form

When I am on good form, I am a business GENIUS! When I am on good form I am creative, productive, focused, I have a lot of fun and life is easy. When I am on good form I enjoy life more. When I am on good form I don’t take the bullshit so seriously. When I am on good form I am confident in my own skin. When I am in good form I am joyful, fun and energetic.

When I am on good form, I am the real me – magnificent, unique and have a great sense of humour and a lust for life.

Who are you when you are on top form?

Sometimes you are on poor form…really poor form, and you try and try to carry on regardless and just keep doing your do. Even though you know that if you stopped to get yourself back on good form, you would be more productive, have greater clarity and enjoy life more. Sometimes you need someone to remind you of who you are when you are on top form – when you are rested, cared for, energised, enjoying life. I needed that reminder yesterday! Let this blog post remind you to keep yourself on top form.

What will you do today to make sure you are on top form?

Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Pieces of a Puzzle

May 26, 2011 by

“There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.” Deepak Chopra

You are an important piece of the grand puzzle – do you own that? Do you live that? Do you see how amazing, how beautiful, how wonderful you are? Or if something is currently darkening your brilliance (lack of self-belief, fear, feeling directionless), do you see how amazing, how beautiful, how wonderful you are? I can see the wonder of you from here…I hope you see it when you look in the mirror!

Own your own magnificence – own that you are a part of the grand puzzle, an important part. What can you do this week to show your faith in your importance?

PS I couldn’t say ‘jigsaw’ as a kid, it was a ‘jinksaw’ – just thought I’d share that!

You Got Potential

January 20, 2011 by

Are you living up to your best self? Being the best you can be? Fulfilling your potential? No? Join the club! Me neither…until I take over the universe, I never will fulfil my potential (evil chuckle). The first thing that really interests me about this ‘potential’ business is that you can never fulfil it…there’s always something more to be.

And the second is that so many of us don’t even try. We give up before we get anywhere near the person we could be – fear of failure (or of success!) keeps us stuck where we are, in the comfort zone, in the rut. 10 years ago, that was me – I was so underwhelmed by my life that I was running screaming for the exits.

What I’ve discovered since then is that while fulfilling your potential may be an impossible goal (can’t prove that yet…I’ll let you know when I’m running the universe), stretching towards it is EASY. Exploring my potential is fun…and it is an incredible confidence boost to discover all the things I can do if I have a go – dancing, public speaking, sky-diving, training, leadership, marketing, being fully and wonderfully me.

You don’t have to bungee off a bridge or move to China to start stretching yourself and exploring your potential, you can do it gently. Just by deciding to do something new, or even something old in a new way. Life gives us the most wonderful opportunities to grow and expand every moment of every day – do you take those opportunities?

Or do you languish in the easy life, while bit by bit your soul dies? Sound dramatic? Well, that’s how I remember life when I wasn’t expanding, growing, exploring and enjoying my potential. Is it any different for you? Inside you is the most wonderful, magnificent, beautiful, joyful, passionate being…is that being crying to get out?

This week, make the commitment to yourself to start exploring your potential – you could explore your potential for daring, for fun, for joy, for success, for love…for anything you want to be more.

Weekend Mojo

February 12, 2010 by

How’s your mojo today? Just to make sure we are on the same wavelength here – your mojo is not a chewy penny sweet, your mojo is your passion, your joie de vivre, your enthusiasm, your desire for living and loving life. How’s your mojo right now? Give it a score on a rating of 1 to 10. Are you feeling full of beans, bouncing around, on top of the world? Or is your mojo hidden under several layers of stress, worry, chores, daily grind?

Often, the trouble is that your mojo isn’t that high on your priority list. Bills and chores come higher…and that, I suspect is what makes us lose our mojo. When you lose your mojo, you start to lose that love of life, the love of yourself, the knowledge that you are completely wonderful and life’s a laugh…and that is tragic.

Agatha Christie said “I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.” The trouble with leaving your mojo low down on your to-do list is that you forget that to be alive is a grand thing.

You leave this lust for life til ‘tomorrow’, and miss out on LIVING – a fun, passionate, joyful, playful life. And that, quite frankly, is a big waste. Life is here to be enjoyed…and underneath all the layers of stress, worry, daily grind and bullshit, you are a fabulous, joyous, fun, isnpirational and magnificent being. So this weekend do what you can to rediscover your mojo.

Try some extreme self care, have some fun. If you must do chores, put some great music on as a backdrop and sing into the vacuum cleaner…or whatever! But whatever you do, get some weekend mojo!

OnTheBeach – A Shining Beacon of Light

October 27, 2008 by

A note from Donna

Brrrrrr…Well, I can now feel November approaching in the air – the good news is that I am writing this sat beside a roaring fire and I don’t have to go back outside today. I’m sure I was a bear (or some other hibernating creature) in a previous life! I’m making good progress with my latest project – Banishing Money Misery course. Soon I will need people to test it out, check it makes sense and critique it. In return, these lovely people will be the first to see it, and get a copy for nothing! If that sounds like it could be of interest to you, and you’d like more details, please e-mail me.

A Shining Beacon of Light

Imagine that you are standing outside as the sky gets dark. As the light fades, you switch on a torch – this torch stays as a shining beacon of light no matter how dark the sky becomes. Now imagine that you are the torch, and the darkness is your workplace. Many people tell me (and indeed I remember living it!) that their workplace is full to bursting with negative, petty, malicious and spiteful people.

The irony being that if you were to meet any one of those people outside the workplace, you would probably find that they were lovely! Often this ‘bad’ behaviour is just thoughtlessness rather than malice, inattentiveness rather than spite. Some places just seem to breed that uncomfortable atmosphere that makes people behave badly…but wait! “Makes” them behave badly? Does someone hold a gun to their head and say “Today you will backstab, gossip and be petty and irritable”?

No…it is a choice we all make. And often the choice is not whether we are loving or malicious – most of us would not choose to be malicious – but whether to react to your environment or rise above it. Whether to switch off your torch and join the darkness or keep shining. It is often said that it is so hard to keep being fabulous in a situation where everyone else is being negative and foolish.

But actually it just requires a little more attention, a bit of determination and a strong sense of how wonderful you are. We all have a great need for acceptance, but if that acceptance means turning down who we are – becoming less fabulous, less loving, less friendly, less wonderful, that is too high a price to pay. This subject came up this week because one of the nicest, most compassionate, lovely people I know was griping about work and the petty, self-serving behaviour…that they had joined into.

Although I understand how it happens, and I’ve done it 1000 times myself, I was shocked that this shining beacon of compassion and gorgeousness would stoop to the level set by other people. And I couldn’t help but feel that their workplace, and indeed the world was a darker place without their full fabulousness. If you are not your fully fabulous self in your workplace, or even with your family and friends, you need to pay attention. Protect yourself from other people’s energies, be mindful of who you really are, and DO NOT let them put out your light.

Something to play with

Close your eyes for a few seconds and imagine yourself as a beacon of light. Is your light shining out strongly and fully, reflecting your magnificence? Or is it dimmed, darkened, hidden? Imagine that light shining brilliantly and like rays of sunshine, your light uplifting the world around you. Open your eyes and carry on with your day…mindful that you are responsible for shining your light, and you MUST NOT allow it to dim.
