Following Your Intuition Is Always Right, Especially When It Makes No Sense

<big>I had followed my intution a few times in my life, but the time it became really obvious that my intuitive guidance was “right” was when I made the decision to go to Australia about 10 years ago. Up until the day I decided to go, I’d NEVER wanted to do any such mad thing – I mean, how many shoes can you get in a backpack anyway?
Understandably, all my friends were baffled and worried. Some of them told me I was mad, some tried to talk me out of it – pointing out that I usually manage to lose cinema tickets between the kiosk and the screening room (and excellent point!). I ignored all of it, only able to explain with “I know it’s the right thing to do.”
Did I ever have regrets? A couple of times – usually when I was tired, broke, lonely and being kept awake by other backpackers “getting busy”. Shudder. But apart from those very few moments, this illogical, out of character, strange decision was the best one I ever made. And now, if I ever get intuitive guidance that doesn’t appear to make sense, I pay a lot of attention!
Following that intuitive guidance brings you confidence in yourself, even when it doesn’t ‘work’ like you think it should, the very fact that you trusted yourself enough to take action gives you confidence. It can bring you adventure, fun, joy, love, sunsets over distant oceans, but most of all it brings you LIFE because your intuition will take you where you want to be, it will challenge you (gently if you ask it to!), and it will stretch you…which will make you feel alive.
So, what’s your intution telling you right now?

Video: Pay Attention to Your Guidance

Video: How does your guidance come to you? EG Bruce Almighty – the signs are everywhere, and hugely obvious but Bruce cannot see them because he is looking for God to speak in a different way. Someone could be talking to someone else, but their words are also for your ears. How do you know? I have come to realise that there is a little thrill in my heart when I recognise some guidance for me, but in the beginning I just had to take on faith that the things that caught my attention were part of my guidance system. It is rare that the sky will brighten, and a message will be boomed out by a bearded bloke. More often it is more subtle – a throwaway comment from someone, an article you come across, a thought that just won’t go away! How does your guidance speak to you? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Following Your Guidance

Often we don’t follow our guidance because we’re scared we’re wrong and it won’t work out. But ironically, even if we do follow our guidance and it doesn’t turn out as we expect, it still feels better than ignoring what we know. Trust yourself – follow your guidance, even when you’re wrong!

March 2008 Book Recommendation – Journalution

Journalution by Sandy Grason. Have you ever kept a diary? Have you ever kept (or wanted to keep) a diary not just of your day to day life, but to connect with your inner wisdom? If not, and you are interested in accessing your inner wisdom (if you’re not, why not?!) by keeping a diary, check out Journalution by Sandy Grason. It’s a book about keeping a diary, or journalling – not only ideas on how and when (whatever works for you), also journalling prompts to get you moving. It’s a lovely book – Sandy’s style is friendly, warm and realistic – she knows life’s going to get in the way! I’ve been working with the journalling prompts for a couple of months, and I am loving the results already – my diary isn’t a moan about life anymore, it’s a place to dream, to find answers, and to have fun!
