Wishcasting: How Do You Wish To Nourish Yourself?

It’s Wishcasting Wednesday. There is power in wishing – putting your wishes out there sets mighty forces into action…

How Do You Wish To Nourish Yourself?

I wish to nourish myself with love for myself, support for myself, 100% belief in myself. I wish to nourish myself with joy, laughter, self-expression, fun, dance (see the daily practice!), creativity, nature, beauty. I wish to nourish myself by caring for myself so well that I feel cradled in the arms of love. I wish to nourish myself in every way that I need nourishment…and mostly that is by backing myself 100%, trusting in me and believing that I can fly high.

Get involved on Jamie’s blog, or leave a comment here. As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also.

November Daily Practice: Dance

November 1, 2011 by

So, did you join me in October for the daily practice of laughter? Did you laugh every day? If you enjoyed it, I hope you will continue to make laughing a high priority in your day! So this month, I decided to have another FUN daily practice. This time, it is Dance. Dancing is fun, it’s good for your physical, emotional, mental AND spiritual health. And since I stopped going clubbing every weekend, I don’t think I dance enough! So, my comittment for this month is to dance every day.

And you know me, I believe in making it easy, so I’m not going to suggest hours of dancing! Oh no, it is just one song of dance, every day. (more if you really want to!) And you can dance to anything you like, in any style you like. Maybe you could have some fun finding new dances you’ve never tried, or dredging your memory for dances you loved as a child, or learning the routine to your favourite pop song. And if you ‘can’t dance’, this is the perfect time for you to have some fun learning – just move your body to the music and dance like no one is watching!

Happy Dancing!

When Life Seems Jolly Rotten

When Life Seems Jolly Rotten…there’s something you’ve forgotten. And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing. (good old Monty Python)

When any situation in your life seems ‘bad’, what are you looking at? The cost, in time, money, energy? All the reasons that this is ‘bad’? What if you were to actively seek the blessings in any situation? Think of a situation you are seeing as ‘bad’. Now think of 10 blessings in this situation.

One of the most inspiring stories I ever heard was of a woman who lost her job, her husband, and discovered she had cancer, all in the space of a week! Her reaction? “I will have plenty of time to focus on getting well, and there will be no dirty socks to pick up!”

There is a bright side if you will only look for it. A silver lining in every cloud. And if all else fails, laugh and smile and dance and sing!

You’d Think I’d Know Better

June 29, 2010 by

Despite knowing that I get my worst and least work done when I am feeling uninspired, still I find myself forcing myself to sit at my desk and ‘get on with it’. Instead of getting up, stretching, playing with the dog, dancing, singing, laughing, getting some fresh air, blowing bubbles, bouncing on the trampoline or doing just about anything else to wake me up, energise me, make myself feel more inspired and up for it, I was sat at my desk, my head getting lower and lower to the surface, my brain atrophying, my energy ebbing away, my creativity hidden under a fog of indifference.

You can imagine that my output was legendary in that state! Sheesh. The good news is that it takes so little time to turn it around. A change of playlist, a quick dance (my big sister showed me a new dance today – it’s completely hilarious, energising and ridiculous. Love it.), moving my keyboard and straightening my back and a new blog post is born! It’s really very simple when you think about it. When your energy is really low, re-energise, THEN ‘get on with it’. We manage this with our cars – if the petrol indicator is low, we fill up. Every time.

But when it come to ourselves, we seem to believe that we should be able to run on fresh air and will power alone. It’s nuts. Stop the insanity – next time you are feeling uninspired, take a moment to re-vitalise yourself in whatever way works for you. Then when you get back to work, you’ll be 1000 times more productive than you will if you don’t re-fuel.

Let Joy Be Unconfined

I was just sent this quote in an e-mail from Lisa of Beach Dance:

On with the dance, let joy be unconfined! – Mark Twain

Not a bad motto to live by, say I!

May joy be unconfined in your life tonight!

Dance, Dance Wherever You May Be

April 23, 2010 by

Yesterday I received this post from 1000 Awesome Things about Dancing when you’re home alone. It really made me laugh because I do this DAILY. Without the wooden spoon or special attire, I am ashamed to admit. When was the last time you did this? And what song did you do it to?

This week, I would have been mortified to be caught shaking my ass to ‘Single Ladies’ by Beyonce or really going for it, top of my lungs, arms out wide to ‘This is War’ by 30 Seconds to Mars. But whenever I think about it, I laugh. And when I actually do it, my energy goes sky high. So my mission for you this weekend is to put on some music that you LOVE, get your ‘microphone’ at the ready and SING and DANCE to your hearts content…and FEEL the moment, really enjoy that moment, wallow in the fun/joy/hilarity, have fun!

And then tell me what you danced and sang to, how you felt and when you’re going to do it again!

Every Station Should Have This

March 20, 2009 by

LOVE this advert – don’t it make you want to dance at your local station?? I think Hampton-In-Arden station would have fits (very small local station) but I reckon Birmingham New Street would be well up for it! Happy Friday – may your weekend be full of dancing and fun!

And just in case you wondered (as I did) how much of it was ‘real’, here’s the making of it:

Let’s Dance!
