I was watching the coverage of Glastonbury festival this weekend, half wishing I was there (it’s the mud that puts me off!) and enjoying the special soul-lifting moments that (for me anyway) music always seems to bring. Like Blur (one of my favourite bands in the 90′s) finishing with The Universal. Stunning. “It really, really, really could happen…” sent a wonderful shiver up my spine. Even though I wasn’t physically there, with eyes closed, arms in the air, and the volume up I still felt that total BUZZ!

You know that buzz? That feeling that your heart is full to overflowing, that your soul is lifted up, that this moment is the only one that matters and it’s a beautiful moment. I’ve had so many of those moments at gigs, in nature, with friends, and after I finished watching the coverage on Sunday night I was reliving a few of them on my way to sleep. I realised that we don’t do that often enough – we don’t deliberately relive or create those moments that lift our soul…and it’s so much fun to do so!

So what lifts your soul? Think of at least a few things that really bring you joy, really bring a full to overflowing feeling to your heart…and spend a few minutes reliving them until you have a big sappy smile on your face and your soul’s up there in the bliss. Then make some plans to create more moments to add to this memory reel, and start reliving those beautiful moments DAILY. Let me know how you get on!

Love

Donna.x

PS my favourite moment of the coverage was when they showed a sign from the ‘kid’s zone’ which said “Pretending to be an aeroplane is allowed in this area” – GENIUS! I am putting that sign up in my office.
