Part of our Christmas tradition is to listen to Frank Kelly’s version of 12 days of Christmas – it never fails to make me laugh, and my dad cry…with laughter. ENJOY!

Living Life With Passion

October 30, 2009 by Donna
Filed under Blog posts

When you think of Loving Life, what comes to mind?

When you think of Living Passionately, what comes to mind?

When you think of Living Joyfully, what comes to mind?

It is my humble opinion that life is to be lived and loved, passionately, fully, joyfully. For too many of us, we don’t. Love of life, passion and joy are things we don’t even think about. Well, this weekend I have a mission for you – start falling in love with life, living passionately and joyously. How? As ever, one step at a time. Answer the questions above – what comes to mind…and what can you do this weekend to start falling in love with life, living passionately and/or living joyfully?

I see you having a weekend full of love, passion, joy and laughter.

Love

Energy First, Action Second

October 15, 2009 by Donna
Filed under Blog posts

While I’ve been tingling, I’ve noticed more than usual that when my energy is really low it takes me 100 times longer to do things…and often the things I do manage to do are not usable. For example, despite the 2 week break in blogs, I did actually write a few blog posts. Sadly they were utter rubbish! My energy was so low that my creativity just disappeared. And instead of inspiring, fun, interesting posts that will help you live a joyful life…they were the very opposite.

It’s not always practical to not do something until your energy is high and happy – life doesn’t stop just because you’re not feeling tip-top…but if you make your energy level a priority, you will reap the rewards – as will your friends, family, employers, clients. Here’s the scale I work by: 1 is flat, apathetic, can’t be arsed energy; 10 is WOOHOO, life’s amazing, bouncing around energy.

Where is your energy right now on a scale of flat to woohoo? (or 1-10) My assertion is that if my energy is less than a 7, it is an utter waste of time me doing any work because it’s rubbish! As I say, sometimes this isn’t practical, but many times something can be done to raise your energy level – self care, having a laugh, fresh air, exercise, music, focusing on the life you want, time with friends who raise your energy, sleep, star jumps (my old house mate used to do this, I thought she was nuts at the time, but I’m coming round to her way of thinking!)…and many more.

So, if your energy is less than a 7 right now, what can you do to raise that energy? Today. Leave me a comment and tell me what energy-raisers you have used and how your energy is right now.

What Are You Leaving Behind?

September 15, 2009 by Donna
Filed under Blog posts

Think about the last 24 hours of your life – where have you been? What did you leave behind? For example, I visited my yoga teacher and left behind a bag of damsons (which was a good thing!). I met friends in the pub and left laughter (because I was so tired I thought someone’s t-shirt said “bee taster”…it was actually “beer taster” D’oh!). I went to the shop and left money and a smile.

I think I have mostly left every part of my world better because I was in it this last 24 hours. That’s not always the case. Sometimes I can leave behind sarcasm, irritation, mess! But if I think about it, I’d rather leave the world a better place behind me than a trashed, insulted, shouted at and hurt. How about you?

Giving Me Good Vibrations

June 23, 2009 by Donna
Filed under Blog posts

Woo, I’ve been feeling GOOD these past few days – I’m cheerful, laughing easily, happy, delighted with life…and the outer circumstances of my life have not changed one bit. So it’s not a new bloke, or a brace of new clients, or 1000 sales of my ebook, or any other outside influence. It’s pure bliss, joy, fun, love of life! And it’s wonderful.

We’ve all felt these ‘good vibrations’ where you just feel GREAT (sometimes for no reason!), but for some reason we seem content to just allow the good vibrations to happen when they will, and the rest of the time just struggle on through life the best we can. Well, let me ask you what you think would happen if you made it your life’s work to feel amazing, connected, joyous, blissful, delighted?

It’s something I try to keep in the forefront of my mind. Sometimes, PMT and rain intrude and I simply forget that my dominant intention is to fall in love with my life, but then sometimes I get a run of days where I just feel WONDERFUL! Over the past few days, these are a few things that have helped me ’stay connected’:

  • laughter (watch some comedy – it does wonders for your vibration);
  • music (dancing, singing, appreciating);
  • a community of people with fabulous vibes themselves (it’s contagious!);
  • reminding myself often that it’s all good, that the universe loves me, and that all things pass;
  • gratitude, appreciation, counting my blessings;
  • “living from” my desired life – enjoying the vision for my life and business and really really really FEELING it
  • There’s probably much more, but you get the idea – now it’s your turn. What gets you in a Good Vibration? And are you going to make it a priority to fall in love with your life?

    In Bliss and Love

    Waking Up From the Dream

    May 26, 2009 by Donna
    Filed under Blog posts

    I was reading a blog post from break the illusion last week about the idea that life is but a dream that we wake up from when we ‘die’. I like to think that when I wake up from this dream, I’ll be really laughing at how seriously I took myself sometimes…and when I think that, I remember that my sense of humour, ability to love, and ability to find joy are my most important qualities.

    Striving For Perfection

    April 6, 2009 by Donna
    Filed under Blog posts

    Are you striving to be ‘perfect’? Do you insist that you never ever make a mistake, get something wrong, cock up? Will you accept nothing less than perfection from yourself?

    High expectations are all well and good, but not when they come at the expense of your peace of mind, your love of yourself, your joy in life. Most of us are much harder on ourselves than we would ever be on someone else, and by having absurdly high standards, we can really make our lives miserable.

    By all means be the best you can be…but get there by having fun, by enjoying the journey, by striving for joy and laughter. You might be astonished to find that you are more likely to meet your high expecations if you apply some encouragement, support and laughter to your life. And hey, even if you don’t, you’ll be having fun!

    I doubt that you will get to the end of your life and say “I wish I had been even harder on myself and made my life a misery”. No, you are much more likely to say “Why was I worried about never failing – I wish I’d been more laid back, had more fun, laughed more”. Why not pre-empt that life-end statement and get on with the serious business of being laid back, having fun, and laughing a LOT?

    What Does Your Inner Child Need Today?

    March 24, 2009 by Donna
    Filed under Blog posts

    What does your inner child need from you today? Mine is always asking for more playtime, more fun, more laughter…and more sweets. She’s a lot wiser than me, I do need more playtime, more fun, more laughter…but maybe not more sweets! Ask your inner child what she needs from you today, and make sure you give it to her.
